1. Low Start Up Cost: Any home based business idea should cost as little as possible to set up and ideally should need no new or special equipment
2. No Selling: Your home based business shouldn't involve any selling of any kind (most people seem to hate the idea of selling - I know I'm no different)
3. Must Actually Be A Work From Home Business: It should be genuinely "workable" from home - You have chosen to work from home so no offices or outside premises should be needed. Time to pocket the rent and the other expenses you've saved!
4. Should Be Able To Operated By Just You: The perfect home based business opportunity should be easily manageable by one person (the business owner) or, at the most, only involve his or her family members
5. Need No Stock: There should be no stock of any kind to buy or to hold. Keep the car in the garage where it belongs; not business equipment!
6. Should Need No Staff: If you work from home on your own account why would you want to employ staff? You should not need to rely on staff or outside contractors - so no inflated operating costs and no need to trust strangers. Trust in yourself; not others.
7. Take As Little Of Your Time As Possible: The whole point of any home based business opportunity is that it frees you from the daily grind and should therefore take up as little of your time as possible, even when worked on a "full-time" basis
